CM Approves Safe City Project for Rawalpindi, and Other Cities

LAHORE: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has given his approval for the implementation of a safe city project in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala, utilizing local resources.

During a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office, a comprehensive review of the safe city project in the aforementioned cities was conducted.

The Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board provided a briefing on the locally developed system, highlighting that software development would be carried out using the machine learning model of the safe city authority, enabling facial recognition capabilities.

The expansion of the safe city project to additional cities aims to improve public safety and instill a stronger sense of security among the citizens.

Furthermore, the completion of the project within the specified timeframe is of utmost importance.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to promptly initiate these projects as integral components of smart cities.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Information, Amir Mir, IG Police, Chairman P&D, ACS, ACS (Home), secretaries of law, finance, C&W, and regulations departments, CEO of Punjab Safe Cities Authority, and other officials.

  1. Admirable initiative and of very neeedable having significant importance regarding prevailing bad situation of law n order in the Rwp/Isb.

  2. Wonder how come a non elected just care taker employee entity can take such decisions on financial, policy, indigenization. Law and order matters. Constitution and more importantly Citizens have placed them to just take care of their resources and assets till the next elected reps take charge.

    Pls someone harness this illegitimate movement and biases.
