CM Distributes Allotment Letters to Affectees of Journalist Colony

LAHORE: The 84 affected residents of Block-B of Journalist Colony Lahore have received allocation letters from Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.

According to sources, a ceremony was held at the CM office to officially resolve a 17-year-old dispute by allocating sizeable plots to Journalist Colony residents who were affected.

Speaking at the occasion, the CM said that affectees had received plots during the first phase and that, in the second phase, the other affectees of Block-B will receive plots on the land available in the Journalist Colony.

He also pledged to deliver a plot to every Block-B affected person, noting that those whose plots were clear could now begin construction of the houses.

Furthermore, the CM added that there is no possibility of a land-grabber mafia in Journalist Colony as a police checkpoint would be constructed there.

He added that the ownership of F-Block properties had also been granted.

Additionally, in addition to receiving 700 Kanal of land, the development work would also begin soon, he assured.

Elahi stated that instructions for the phase-II construction have been sent to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the Ravi Urban Department Authority (RUDA) which would provide 5 marla plots for each journalist.

The CM stated that in addition to giving plots to sick and disabled journalists who are not press club members, he would also be giving a 150% special allowance to the officers and staff of the Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR).

Azam Chaudhry, the president of the Lahore Press Club (LPC), expressed gratitude to the CM for the approval.
