LAHORE: On Tuesday, Commissioner Lahore, Muhammad Amir Jan, evaluated the upgrading and revamping of M.M. Alam Road to improve traffic flow.
It was examined during a meeting at the LDA office that was co-chaired by Commissioner Lahore and Director General LDA, Aamir Ahmed Khan.
The Commissioner briefed that an integrated plan was being implemented to improve traffic flow throughout the city, and that M.M. Alam Road needed to be upgraded immediately to meet the challenge of increasing traffic flow.
Encroachments on M.M. Alam Road would be removed, he stated, adding that utility services would also be shifted underground as part of a consultation to improve traffic flow.
He stated that the next consultation meeting for the upgrading of M.M. Alam Road would take place in ten days.
It is surprising to note here that the Mayor of Peshawar, previously, also expressed the desire to replicate the expertise of the LDA, and the Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (TEPA), in a bid to manage the city’s disorderly traffic.
