Delivery of Funds to Flood Affectees of Punjab Starts

LAHORE: The delivery of aid funds for more than 55,000 flood victims has begun under the direction of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

According to the details, 55,400 flood victims are receiving relief for a total of Rs. 12.20 billion and the government is providing each owner of 47,500 mud houses Rs. 2.8 lakh, while each owner of the 8,000 concrete houses Rs. 4 lac.

The CM commended the efforts of the armed forces, Akhuwat Foundation, and NGOs for flood relief.

He also praised the work of Sania Nishtar, who in just 2 months created an excellent distribution system. Due to the record being accessible via the PDMA system, the aid program has never been more transparent, he noted.

Furthermore, ambassadors, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have all complimented the delivery of the aid packages in record time.

Besides, Chief Secretary Abdullah Sumbal, stated that joint efforts resulted in the establishment of a coordinated and open aid structure as the CM officially announced the program’s launch and presented aid to the victims of Taunsa, Jampur, Kot Chhata, Rajanpur, and Rojhan.
