KARACHI: The Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee has given the green light for a technical supplementary grant worth PKR 1 billion for the renovation of roads in the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate area of Karachi.
The Finance Division was the driving force behind the proposal, which was approved by the Central Development Working Party and will be funded by the federal government to the tune of PKR 3,000 million.
The Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Division has designated the required funds for the 2022-2023 Public Sector Development Program.
The division has also released PKR 1 billion to the Finance Division for acquiring the Technical Supplementary Grant.
When we make roads, the road height increases by 6 to 8 inch. In 25-30 years, the houses are a foot below road level resulting in rain water accumulating in the houses.
Can we not remove the top layers and recarpet the road to maintain old road level. Imagine if roads were made in Europe like we do, the roads should be above 1st floor level of houses. Already some factories in SITE have gone a foot below newly made roads. Hope my view will be taken in consideration when spending such collosal amount on new SITE roads.
