ETPB-FIA Starts Nationwide Anti-Encroachment Operation to Retrieve Properties

LAHORE: A nationwide operation has been started by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) to recover its valuable assets from land grabbers and others who have not paid the dues.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), police, revenue, and other relevant departments have all joined the operation after the Supreme Court of Pakistan issued an order in response to a forensic audit that identified several properties that were being used by rent defaulters or under illegal occupation.

According to sources, several properties, including shops, have recently been taken back from illegal occupants in Lahore alone, and the tenants, while the recovery was conducted from the 3 tenants living in several bungalows owned by ETPB, situated in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

Besides, a team led by FIA officials reportedly carried out an operation on Saturday and recovered different properties worth a total of Rs. 615 million from defaulters.
