ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has announced plans to launch new residential projects in eight major cities across the country to provide housing to both government employees and the general public.
According to sources within the FGEHA, the authority has already received numerous applications from interested landowners, companies, and firms.
These applications were invited for the supply of land for housing schemes, including plots, houses, and apartments, in major cities such as Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, Karachi, and the twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The selection process for these applications is being followed as per Joint Venture Regulations 2020, and the new housing projects will be launched on the basis of a joint venture between the FGEHA and interested parties.
FGEHA is also accelerating the pace of different development projects that are already underway to provide modern residential facilities to employees in the shortest possible time.
These projects include the Chaklala Scheme with 3,432 apartments and the Skyline Apartments with a total of 3,945 units.
Minister for Housing and Works Maulana Abdul Wasay is taking a keen interest in providing housing facilities to employees and has directed the officials concerned to expedite ongoing projects under the FGEHA umbrella, including Kashmir Avenue Apartments, G-13 Chaklala Heights, and Skyline Apartments.
The minister has also instructed staff on the site to ensure quality and timely completion of construction work on both schemes.
Furthermore, the FGEHA’s efforts to provide affordable housing to government employees and the public will likely be welcomed, as there is a significant demand for such housing in major cities across the country.
As the FGEHA does not carry good reputation and highest level of trust deficit in developing the projects, therefor it will be defficult to attract new clients.
