ISLAMABAD: The revision of the master plan of Islamabad has been delayed due to the government’s lack of interest in approving the appointment of commission members for the task.
According to the details, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had submitted a summary to the interior ministry in December 2022, requesting approval for the names of commission members.
However, the government has not taken any action on the summary for the past five months.
The CDA had proposed around 20 names for the commission and had requested the federal government to reconsider the commission formed by the previous PTI government, which had become inactive.
In a recent development, a member of the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board was also added to the list.
The revision of the master plan of Islamabad is urgently needed, but the government’s inaction has put it on hold.
The CDA approved an honorarium of Rs25,000 for each commission member participating in the meetings.
However, the delay in the government’s approval has caused frustration among officials, who are concerned about the negative impact on the city’s development.
The revision of the master plan is crucial for the development of Islamabad and its surrounding areas.
It will ensure that the city’s infrastructure meets the needs of its growing population and that the environment is protected.
Additionally, the delay in appointing commission members is a cause for concern, and officials are urging the government to take action.
The CDA has been waiting for the government’s approval for too long, and it is time for the government to act in the best interests of the city and its residents.

Yes , its needs to change the amendments in Master Plan CDA with good be positive (Neha), instead of land Mafia.
Selection of unsitable officials in CDA for the proposed areas is the route cause of delay in development work of the CDA Sectors which were announced long ago but still there is no chance to start work over there. Chairman CDA should emphasize the same before the government.
