LAHORE: On Wednesday, Mian Aslam Iqbal, the Provincial Minister of Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Engineering, presided over a meeting to assess the status of the Lahore Central Business District Project and the Ravi River Front Project (LCBDP).
Imran Amin, the Chief Executive Officer of the LCBDP and the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), gave a presentation on the project.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Housing Shakeel Ahmed, the LCBDDA and RUDA COO Brig. (R) Mansoor Janjua, the Executive Directors of Commercial Muhammad Umar and Kashif Qureshi, as well as other relevant officers.
The New Ravi City, according to provincial minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, was urgently needed to address problems caused by the province’s rapidly growing population.
The central business district of Punjab also played a significant role in the province’s growth.
He asserted that these projects ought to be moved forward quickly in order to bring relief to the general population and hasten economic growth.
He added that the Ravi City project would give the citizens access to top-notch housing, educational, medical, and tourism facilities.
According to the provincial minister, the project would result in the employment of two million people and the relocation of 4–8 million people.
A new chapter in the history of national development would be written by the new industrial zone on 3500 acres in Ravi City, he said.
Additionally, he said that RUDA and CBDA were moving both of Punjab’s development projects rapidly.
