KMC Demolishes Illegal Shops in Korangi No. 5 Amidst Protests and Violence

KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) recently conducted an anti-encroachment operation in Korangi No. 5, aimed at demolishing shops that were illegally constructed on government land.

As per the details, heavy machinery was used to carry out the operation, despite resistance from the shopkeepers, who resorted to violence. However, law enforcement agencies managed to control the situation.

According to Karachi Administrator Dr. Saifur Rehman, encroachments not only inconvenience citizens but also obstruct the smooth flow of traffic.

In recent years, Karachi has been plagued by a severe issue of encroachments, with illegal construction of shops, stalls, and buildings on government land becoming increasingly common.

It is important to note that the KMC has been actively taking measures to combat such encroachments, but it remains a challenging task.
