KP-EZDMC and InfraCo Asia Collaborate for Solarization of Economic Zones in KP

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC) has issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to InfraCo Asia for conducting a complete feasibility study for the ‘solarisation’ of economic zones in the province.

The spokesperson of KP-EZDMC stated that the issuance of an LOI signifies the commitment of both KP-EZDMC and InfraCo Asia toward exploring the potential of solar energy and expanding its use in the economic zones of the province.

According to details, the ‘solarisation’ of economic zones in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa involves the integration of solar power into the energy mix of these zones to provide a quick and cost-effective source of energy.

This will help to reduce the overall cost of doing business, as the cost of energy is a significant factor in the cost of production.

According to sources, the ceremony held for the LOI was attended by various high-ranking officials, including the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Imdadullah Bosal, Jo Moir, Development Director of the British High Commission Pakistan, and Dr. Omar Mukhtar Khan, Team Lead of SEED.

It is worth noting that the ‘solarisation’ project of economic zones is a significant step towards sustainable economic growth and a greener future for the province.

The project will provide a clean and cost-effective source of energy and will help to attract investment and businesses to the economic zones of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
