LAHORE: Lahore Commissioner and Director General of Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has announced that the crackdown on encroachments and illegal constructions in parking areas will continue.
This statement comes in the wake of a recent operation conducted by the Town Planning Zone Five of LDA.
Six illegal properties were demolished during the operation in Defence Road, LDA Avenue One, and Jubilee Town.
Also, illegally constructed restaurants were razed at Ada Plot and Main Boulevard Jubilee Town.
Additionally, several shops that were constructed without the approved plan in LDA Avenue-1 F Block were also demolished.
However, the owners of the demolished shops claim that they had received assurances from LDA officials that their constructions were approved and would not face any action.
This move is part of the ongoing efforts by the LDA to clear out encroachments and illegal constructions that are hindering the city’s development.
The Commissioner and DG have vowed to continue taking action against such illegal practices and to ensure that the city’s parking areas remain accessible to the public.
The LDA has urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities and avoid engaging in any illegal construction activities.
The crackdown on encroachments and illegal constructions is set to continue until all unauthorized structures are removed and the city’s parking areas are free from obstruction.

Very strange that multi storyed building for apartments are not allowed on canal road side of GOR1 which would generate economic activity as this would be on private owned property. The entire Lahore city is exempted of restriction but here red tapeism plays its part
Please visit Montgomery road and clear road due to illegal encroachment.
Alot of illegal construction and encroachments in Kareem block Allama Iqbal town, market and residential area, both. Also Umer block right across the market.

DG lda please visit area Johar Town, Iqbal Town, Allah o chowk, BOR SOCIETY, GULBERG, GARDEN TOWN, PIA society, Wapda Town, and see what’s happening there how those plots are being used as commercial from decades.
Don’t behave immature. Accept and legalize this commercial activities otherwise these one day show off will only open back door channels for corruption.
Let LDA AVENUE 1 develop which has suffered 2 decades because of lda wrong policies

Please improve the approach road in front of Ittefaq hospital Model town..road’s large part has been conxerted into car parking and motorcycle parking
Please improve and check the uper canal societies now illegal 3rd flour construction and owner give their houses on rent to big private companies which is not allowed in residential area

I have not seen any demolished buildings at Adda Plot. A famous food chain is still running its restaurant on the roundabout and causing traffic jams, on a daily basis.

All actions having temporary reactions especially against busy established areas. Only DHA, Bahria and Lake City have check & balance and strict monitoring teams to stop illegal steps before ahead. Rest of Lahore only deals without documentation and avail chance to get business activities until posting of LDA staff.

I want to inform you that almost every shopkeeper under LDA market has extended their stolls outside their shops due to which the public has to face many difficulties to go through the market. Kindly look into this matter seriously and take action against such shopkeepers.
This is good initiative against poor people but LDA can’t do anything in Wapdatown. Rehmat chowk is all demostic property but utilized as commercial. Big giants are there and LDA is helpless 🙂
Illegal plaza also constructed in G1 Market Johar Town beside Jahangir Sons, plaza # 11A – that plaza is almost 10-12feet extended from front side. Its parking area is no more, which is its major cause of hurdles for roadside traffic all the time!

In j3 block johar town mostly houses have bigger outer boundaries which is the part of roads , in the name of mini green area ( kiyaries ) but having chains and extra tiles on the roads
But no action could be seen till last 10 years
