LDA’s Operation Targets Illegal Housing Societies in Lahore

LAHORE: Under the guidance of Commissioner Lahore and DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its crackdown on illegal housing societies within the city.

A significant operation was executed against unauthorized housing schemes located at Bhaini Road, Manawan, and Batapur on Wednesday.

Moreover, the LDA teams targeted multiple schemes including the Azam Garden Scheme, Marhaba City, Malikpur City, Albari City, Dream Housing, and Mahboob Housing Scheme.

During the operation, the LDA teams dismantled boundary walls, main gates, roads, and offices of the Azam Garden Scheme.

Similarly, the gate, roads, and sewerage system of Marhaba City were also demolished.

In addition, the roads of Malikpur City, Dream Housing, Albari City, and the site office were razed, along with electricity poles.

Similarly, the boundary walls and site offices of Mahboob Housing and Siphon Farms were taken down as part of the operation.

The State Management Private Housing Schemes Department led the operation, supervised by Additional DG Housing Captain (Retd) Shahmir Iqbal.

The LDA’s decisive actions against illegal societies and constructions are in line with the directives of Commissioner Lahore and DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who are focused on curbing such unauthorized developments across the city.

In a separate operation, LDA teams also conducted a comprehensive operation against encroachments around Township College Road.

As per the details, over two hundred shops and properties that had encroached upon public space were cleared.

The operation covered the stretch from Akbar Chowk to Ameer Chowk Road, and during the operation, ten individuals were arrested for interfering with government efforts.

During the Township College Road operation, encroachments including sheds, floors, boards, and hoardings were removed.

Furthermore, notable establishments such as shopping malls, renowned brands, bakeries, banks, and grocery stores were also among those that saw their encroachments removed.

The operation was executed under the supervision of Additional DG Housing Captain (Retd) Shah Mir Iqbal, Director Town Planning VII Ali Abbas, and Director Housing Zafar Iqbal.
