Mayor Peshawar Vows to Wipe Off Encroachments from City

PESHAWAR: Mayor Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali has vowed to completely remove encroachments from the city with the assistance of locals and business owners.

He said that the district government’s priority was helping the people of Peshawar, and nothing would be spared to accomplish this.

The mayor made these remarks to the media on Sunday while visiting several marketplaces and meeting with businesspeople and individuals in the city.

Furthermore, the mayor said that he held about 40 open courts throughout the city to keep himself informed and find solutions to issues.

Zubair said that his department also invited all the business community and presidents of the markets to the city council hall where they were told in detail about the encroachment, on which they unanimously guaranteed assistance in enforcement.

The mayor vowed that Peshawar would be free of encroachments and after the deadline completes, and the whole city would see a grand operation to free the lands from encroachment.

He added that upon the request of the business community and market presidents, he allotted more time to remove the encroachments.
