NAB Court Adjourns Hearing into Pak-Arab Housing Scheme Scandal

LAHORE: The hearing on the bail application of Pak Arab Housing Scheme’s owner Ammar Ahmad Khan was adjourned by an accountability court on Wednesday until November 22.

The details show that after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a reply in the case, the court requested arguments from the parties on the date of the next hearing.

Furthermore, Judge Malik Sajid Ali Awan of the Accountability Court presided over the proceedings regarding the accused’s bail application.

According to the details, the owner of the Pak-Arab Housing Scheme, Ammar Ahmad Khan, claimed that despite selling files to hundreds of people, he had been accused of not providing plots.

He argued that, while some people had already received plots, others had received payments following settlement.

The accused also urged the court to grant the advantage of post-arrest bail as he assured that attempts were being made to distribute plots and paybacks to the remaining affected parties.

Previously, a division bench of the Lahore High Court revoked the accused’s bail on October 18, 2022, in response to a request made by the NAB.

According to the NAB, the son of a former senator Gulzar Ahmed, Ammar Ahmad Khan (accused) was given conditional release in 2018 and was required to give plots to 4,200 victims of the Pak-Arab housing scheme, which was not met in the stipulated time.
