National Assembly’s Committee Summons FGEHA DG Over Allotment Concerns

ISLAMABAD: The Standing Committee on Housing and Works of the National Assembly in Pakistan summoned Muhammad Junaid Anwar, the Director General of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), to address concerns about the allotment of plots, flats, and apartments.

The committee wanted to know the reasons behind the delay in the allotment of flats to federal government employees and asked Anwar about the ongoing development work being done by the FGEHA.

During the meeting, Anwar informed the committee that the FGEHA’s current projects were progressing at a rapid pace and that the authority was taking steps to address any ongoing issues.

He also briefed the committee on the waiting list and category-wise allotments for houses in Sectors G-9 and G-10 of Islamabad.

The committee was told that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had its own pool of housing for its employees and, therefore, CDA personnel were not eligible to receive accommodations from the Estate Office pool in FGEHA projects.

Later in the meeting, the committee discussed the mechanisms of the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF) and National Construction Limited (NCL).

It is important to note that FGEHA is a federal government authority that provides affordable housing solutions to central government employees.

The authority has several projects in four provinces and Islamabad. Recently, it announced eight new housing and commercial projects.

The Director General provided updates on ongoing development work and explained the reasons for the delay in the allotment of flats.

Additionally, the committee was also briefed on waiting lists and category-wise allotments for houses in Islamabad. The committee later discussed the mechanisms of PHAF and NCL.

It is important to mention that FGEHA provides affordable housing solutions to central government employees and has several projects across Pakistan.

  1. What do these central govt employees do for the public that they deserve housing built with public taxpayer money? What public service do they provide?
    This is just another project by the govt. to spend more money on itself ar the expense of the public without doing anything for public welfare and development.
    Why is there no affordable housing scheme provision for the public?
    Why does Pakistan have a growing homeless persons problem with millions and entire families sleeping rough on footpaths ?
    Answers please!!

  3. I was an assistant commissioner in FBR and take retirement in Nov 2020.Ihave applied for plot in Govr employee housing scheme in 2016 and paid down payment 0f Rs525000/_but till now no any plot was alloted to me accordingly.You are requested to kindly look into the matter sympathatically.

  4. FGEHA should asked about the allotment of plots to the federal government employees of Drive One those have already paid their dues but so far they haven’t been informed about the allotment. Employees of Dive Two are in the same line. It’s already 14 years passed. Please take notice of the situation expeditiously. Thanks.
