LAHORE: In compliance with the Lahore High Court (LHC) order, the Punjab government has established a Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) to address complaints from residents of private housing schemes under the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
The notification confirming the formation of the committee was presented by Additional Advocate General (AAG) Jawwad Yaqoob during a recent court session.
According to sources from the Attorney General’s office, the committee will be chaired by the Secretary for Housing and Urban Development, with officials from the LDA and the Local Government Department serving as members.
Notably, Justice Shahid Jamil Khan of the LHC had recently heard petitions from residents of various housing societies regarding inadequate regulations by the LDA.
In response to an objection raised by the petitioners, the judge ruled against a clause in the notification that allowed a representative of a housing scheme to be a committee member.
The law officer assured the court that the committee would address all complaints related to private housing schemes, including issues concerning the misuse of amenity plots and utilities.

Application against fraud of Al Rahman Garden Phase II Overseas Block
Sir/ Madam,
I am a poor private teacher. I have purchased a file of 3 Marla from Al Rahman Garden Phase II Overseas Block. The cost of plot was PRs 1365000, for this I have deposited PRs 225000 as advance and I had to pay PRs 14000 as monthly installment. I was paying these installments regularly. Now suddenly they have changed the plan they are demanding PRs 26000 per month installment which include PRs 12000 as development charges. Sir they have added PRs 750000 as development charges for 3 Marla plot which they have not mentioned in the agreement. Now poor people are selling their files for the loss of PRs 250000 due to their fraud. They have sold extra files than the land they have. Please check their fraud and help me and other people.
