PESHAWAR: The District Administration has launched an anti-encroachment operation in Karkhano Market in Nauthia Bazaar.
The operation was carried out with the assistance of the Peshawar Development Authority and city police.
The officials shared that encroachments were removed from the Nauthia Bazaar. However, some sources say that the condition was still the same, and the pushcarts were seen on the roads and footpaths.
They added that vehicles were parked on several points of the road, creating problems for both traffic and pedestrians.
It is important to mention that people have also encroached on the irrigation channels used for sewerage now.
A real estate agent Khalid Khan also disclosed that people have merged parts of nullahs into their homes or have constructed shops on them.
Anti-encroachment operations are carried out in different parts of the country by the authorities, and acres of government land have been recovered.
