Peshawar Administration Launches Anti-Encroachment Operation in Karkhano Market

PESHAWAR: The District Administration has launched an anti-encroachment operation in Karkhano Market in Nauthia Bazaar.

The operation was carried out with the assistance of the Peshawar Development Authority and city police.

The officials shared that encroachments were removed from the Nauthia Bazaar. However, some sources say that the condition was still the same, and the pushcarts were seen on the roads and footpaths.

They added that vehicles were parked on several points of the road, creating problems for both traffic and pedestrians.

It is important to mention that people have also encroached on the irrigation channels used for sewerage now.

A real estate agent Khalid Khan also disclosed that people have merged parts of nullahs into their homes or have constructed shops on them.

Anti-encroachment operations are carried out in different parts of the country by the authorities, and acres of government land have been recovered.

  1. All these anti encroachment drives or so called operations are a farce and a futile exercise. Officials of district administration came to Karkhano market on Tuesday, dismantled few illegal structures and then left. Within hours of the so called operation most of these structures re-emerged with the Peshawar Development Authority officials acting as a mere spectators.

  2. I seen the whole situation on that day..but unfortunately today i visit karkhano market again the shopkeeper place their belonging on the same place…mafia is strong. govt officials and officers are involved gor bharta
