ISLAMABAD: The promise made by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to build residences for flood affectees in Tank district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was fulfilled after the construction of 100 housing units was completed in record time.
The prime minister thanked Philipp Joeinig, CEO of Menzies Global Aviation, who approached him about building a flood relief village, according to a press release from the PM Office Media Wing.
During his visit to the flood-affected district on September 2, the PM promised to build 100 houses for flood-displaced families.
The construction site was chosen on September 3, and construction work began on September 11, following the completion of the survey.
According to the details of the project, the construction process was completed in a record 24 days on October 5 as designed by Ali Naqvi.
The housing village is fitted with a solar system, a school, a clinic, and a tube well. The units are made of modern construction materials that can withstand harsh weather conditions.
It is worth mentioning that during the 2005 earthquake and 2010 floods, the Menzies built 270 housing units in Mithan Kot and Rajanpur.
