PM Unveils Ambitious Olympic Village Project for Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The government is set to construct an expansive Olympic village, spread across 1200 Kanals in the foothills of Margalla in Islamabad.

A meeting to deliberate on this project was convened in Islamabad, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, it was revealed that the forthcoming Olympic village will house world-class sports facilities, including a cricket academy, an international cricket stadium, a hockey ground, facilities for tent pegging, an athletics stadium, indoor sports areas, an international hotel, and parking, among other amenities.

As per the details, the project is expected to cost approximately 3 billion rupees.

Addressing the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the importance of transparency in the execution of the sports village’s construction.

He proposed the establishment of a corporate structure supervised by experts to ensure the realization of the Olympic Village.

The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of sports activities for the mental and physical well-being of the youth.

Highlighting various governmental initiatives aimed at promoting sports across the nation, he informed that the foundation stone for Pakistan’s first sports university has already been laid in Islamabad.
