KARACHI: The Karachi division of Pakistan Railways has announced its plans to initiate an anti-encroachment operation to address the issue of illegal construction in the area.
Mohammed Nasir Khalili, the DSP railway, has identified 22 locations within the Karachi Division where unauthorized structures, including petrol pumps, houses, factories, tenements, and other buildings, have been established.
Despite receiving multiple notices, the responsible mafia behind these encroachments has failed to vacate the land.
These illegal structures have sprung up in various areas surrounding the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) line, including city stations, Gulshan Iqbal, and Gulistan Johar.
Sources reveal that the upcoming grand operation will involve the collaboration of the police, rangers, and district administration.
Furthermore, Nasir Khalili has been specially assigned to oversee the operation within the Karachi division.
