LAHORE: The summary to grant property rights to the Gowala colonies would be forwarded to the cabinet, according to the senior member of the Punjab Board of Revenue (SMBR), Zahid Akhtar Zaman.
As per the details, the SMBR also ordered a committee that would be mandated to plan and finalize new rates on property re-transfer and other financial affairs of the Gowala colonies.
This decision came while SMBR presided over a meeting on granting property rights to the residents of the Gowala Colonies.
Besides, officers from the Livestock Department, Commissioner Lahore Division, DC Lahore, ADCR, and other relevant departments attended the meeting.
Furthermore, the commissioner of Lahore Division briefed the meeting that the on-ground survey of Gowala Colonies had been completed, which showed that Gowalas (milkmen) were using 1,300 plots in Gowala Colony Model Town and 617 plots in Harbanspora.
Previously, the SMBR also ordered a new portal system to remotely verify the ownership of a property, which would help the owners to obtain and print sale deeds using a mobile device.
