LAHORE: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), Imran Amin, recently announced that the authority has its own master plan, which is independent of any other authority.
This statement was made during an internal meeting presided over by the CEO himself.
According to the CEO, the RUDA’s master plan is not a part of the Lahore Development Authority’s master plan for 2050.
Instead, the RUDA operates as an independent authority with its own trajectory of progression. The main objective of the Ravi City project, which falls under the RUDA’s master plan, is to restore the river and strengthen the environment.
To achieve this goal, the authority plans to construct three barrages and lakes to increase the water level on the riverfront.
In addition, the RUDA has also identified several other initiatives to improve the environment. It plans to set up industrial, educational, and health zones in the Ravi City project.
Additionally, RUDA has finalized plans to install wastewater treatment plants and implement measures to combat smog through good industrial practices.
It is important to note that through these initiatives, the authority hopes to mitigate the effects of climate change and improve the environment.
