RAWALPINDI: The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, under the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), achieved a significant revenue milestone by generating Rs. 851 million during the 2022-23 fiscal year.
The details suggest that the authority has surpassed the set target of Rs. 565 million.
According to the RDA spokesperson, the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing played a crucial role in this achievement by collecting Rs. 558 million, while the Planning Wing contributed Rs. 293 million to the revenue recovery, marking one of the highest revenue collections by the department to date.
The spokesperson credited the hard work and commitment of the concerned officials for successful revenue generation.
During the last fiscal year, the Land Use and Building Control Wing approved 1,728 residential building plans and 151 commercial maps submitted by citizens at the One Window Operation Centre of RDA.
Additionally, the RDA took stringent action against illegal housing schemes and unauthorized constructions in the same period.
Besides, fines were also imposed on violators of the regulations, and First Information Reports (FIRs) were lodged against the owners of illegal housing schemes and unapproved residential and commercial constructions.
Director General of RDA, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, expressed appreciation for the efforts of the MP&TE Directorate and instructed all officers to continue working honestly and take strict actions by the law against illegal constructions and housing schemes.
