RAWALPINDI: In a recent development, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken stringent action against the unauthorized housing project Faisal Town Phase-II. The Director General of RDA, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, has instructed the issuance of a show cause notice to the proprietors of the housing scheme, which has been advancing its Phase II unlawfully.
A spokesperson for RDA revealed that the show cause notice was dispatched by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate. The offense? Launching and promoting Phase-II of Faisal Town in the localities of Mera Kalan, Kolian Par, and Dhalla in Tehsil Rawalpindi, particularly its presence on social media platforms.
The Director General has expressed concerns over citizens investing in illicit housing societies and strongly advises against it. It was also revealed that the executives of Faisal Town Phase-II are gearing up to commence plot bookings and are planning a launch event for Phase-II, all while bypassing the requisite approvals. This flouts rule 46 (1) of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021.
The spokesperson further stated that the MP&TE Directorate has sternly instructed the management of Faisal Town Phase-II to halt all forms of developmental work, advertising, and transactions related to the plots immediately. The management faces legal repercussions under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021 if they fail to comply.
Furthermore, the Director General has mandated the MP&TE Directorate to rigorously pursue and penalize any illicit marketing and advertising of unauthorized housing schemes. This move signifies the RDA’s commitment to upholding lawful development practices in Rawalpindi and safeguarding the interests of its citizens.
This is the Issue for our society. Authoritative people at Housing schemes start selling land without approval as they only need to bribe a few officials and they grab billions from pocket of public. And when they loot billions from public, then authorities came into action to demolish the scheme. This is all i’m observing in my beloved Piyara Pakistan.
The RDA was completely mum when the scheme was initially launched and massively advertised people have invested billions in the scheme, thier hard earned money and now the RDA has awakened, after one year they are telling the public that the scheme is illegal, for the known ulterior motives.
For this lackluster performance RDA owes an explanation to the general public.

“Faisal Town Phase II has already been been issued NOC (No Objection Certificate) by the RDA (Rawalpindi Development Authority) for 7,300 Kanal under letter No. RDA/MP&TE/F-PHS-TAX-19/960/2022.”
