RAWALPINDI: On the orders of the Director General (DG), Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) conducted a raid, sealing the booking offices of two unlawful private housing societies on Tuesday.
According to the details, the booking offices, located in Moza Thallian near the new Islamabad Airport and the Commercial Market in Rawalpindi, have been sealed as informed by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE).
The RDA spokesperson said that in violation of the Punjab Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021, the proprietors of these illegal housing schemes were operating booking offices without prior approvals.
He added that the authorities had sent letters to the owners of the illegal housing projects, adding that legal action was also being taken against the marketing and advertising of all illegal housing schemes.
Besides, the DG had urged the public to avoid investing in unlicensed and illegal housing schemes and to check the status of the projects on the RDA’s official website, rda.gop.pk, before making any investments.
Recently, the DG RDA, Saif Anwar Jappa, has also made obtaining the authority’s no-objection certificate (NOC) mandatory before advertising anything related to private housing schemes.
