RAWALPINDI: The Director General (DG) of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Saif Anwar Jappa, has made obtaining the authority’s no-objection certificate (NOC) mandatory before advertising anything related to private housing schemes.
According to details, the DG wrote a letter to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi, Cantonment Boards, Rawalpindi District Council, and Rawalpindi Tehsil Councils to allow advertisement publication only after housing societies obtain NOCs from the RDA.
The DG stated that the societies create catchy streamers, banners, and hoardings to entice gullible people and overseas Pakistanis.
RDA has already taken up this matter with the Federal Investigation Agency to initiate action against individuals and firms who upload television commercials on social media to sell plots of illegal and unapproved private housing schemes, he added.
He stated that after receiving complaints against owners of illegal housing societies, RDA took concrete steps to protect innocent people from fraudsters and urged them to refrain from investing in such societies.
