RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has intensified its crackdown on illegal commercial buildings following orders from the Director General, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.
The RDA spokesperson reported that three shops were demolished during the operation, while three plazas and six shops were sealed in different areas of the city.
According to sources, the Enforcement Squad of RDA is currently conducting the operation against unauthorized and illegal commercial buildings, taking strict action against law violators.
The operation, led by the Deputy Director of Building Control, the in-charge Assistant Director of Building Control, Deputy in charge, Building Inspectors, and others, is ongoing at High Court Road, Gulraiz Housing Scheme, and Bostan Khan Road.
Besides, RDA has also collected Rs. 2 million in commercialization fees/charges from the violators of the rules.
The DG of RDA has instructed the authorities to take strict action against encroachments, unauthorized constructions, and commercial activities without discrimination.
