Residents Around Islamabad Highway Frustrated Over Delayed Road Expansion Project

ISLAMABAD: Residents in DHA2/DHA5 areas near Islamabad Highway are expressing frustration with the poorly planned road expansion project, which has led to severe traffic congestion.

Commuters and residents have criticized the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for the poorly executed project, which they say is causing significant financial losses due to the wear and tear of their vehicles from the dug-up roads.

Some have even suggested taking legal action against those responsible for causing mental agony and discomfort.

The Islamabad traffic police have also come under fire for their failure to ensure smooth traffic flow.

However, officials have yet to come up with a solution to ease the ongoing traffic gridlock. As residents continue to bear the brunt of the situation, they are left wondering when relief will come.

The Capital Development Authority and the Frontier Works Organization have yet to comment on the issue.

In the meantime, commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and use alternative roads where possible.

Besides, the traffic police have also urged motorists to cooperate with them to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

Comments

  1. FWO doesn’t know how to make alternate ways while construction of roads. It seems the civil engineering never learnt this in their curriculum. NLC has the same stance during construction of IJP road.
For God sake, facilitate people but not to suffocate them.

  2. First of all the article is copy paste second of all images shown or not the actual images that have to be shown third pro Pakistani does not have any system with their right links and actual stories and do not even cite the stories they do from where they copied

  3. Same is the situation regarding IJP road…..too much traffic …. no one to tackle traffic jams ….people r suffering especially bc of the trucks at the time of schools and offices

  4. Lot of problem on the subject construction work very slow and unprofessional for the road work only creating mental distrubance for common public .
Only we can pray when to complete project no clue.
