Revenue Board Raids Non-Compliant Private Club in Karachi’s DHA

KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has conducted a raid on a private posh club located in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA), seizing its tax records and documents for further investigation, according to a press release issued by the SRB spokesperson on Thursday.

The SRB spokesperson, Commissioner Muhammad Ali Mazgani, did not name the club in question but described the action as part of the SRB’s crackdown on non-compliant businesses in the hospitality and aesthetic sectors.

The posh club, which had outstanding dues in the head of the Sindh Sales Tax (SST) and had consistently failed to file SST returns, was issued notices by the SRB for payment and e-filing of the missing tax returns, but action was taken due to non-compliance on the part of the club.

The SRB officials are now examining the seized records to assess the tax liability and recover the dues that have been determined.
