South Punjab to Introduce E-Registration System for Property

LAHORE: The Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of South Punjab, retired Capt. Saqib Zafar has directed all administrative secretaries to launch an e-registration system for property registries in all districts of the region.

He noted that the move is aimed at bringing transparency to the process and reducing corruption and fraud in property purchase and sale.

Furthermore, the ACS gave the directive during a video-link meeting held to discuss measures for improving good governance and service delivery in various departments.

The meeting was attended by several secretaries, including those of Housing and Urban Development, Forest Wildlife and Fisheries, Higher Education, Schools Education, Primary Health Care, and Specialized Health Care.

During the meeting, the ACS emphasized the importance of e-registration in streamlining the real estate business and reducing tax evasion and the loss of property documents.

He also ordered the training of revenue staff and the use of the experience gained through the ongoing e-registration pilot project in the Sahiwal Division.

In addition, the Special Healthcare Secretary, Afzaal Nasir, visited the construction site of Nishtar Hospital-II to check the quality of work.

He directed the project head to complete the construction work by May 30, using double shifts.

The department will monitor the project daily to reduce the patient load in other hospitals after completion.
