Trainee Officers of NIM Peshawar Visit FDA Complex

FAISALABAD: The 32nd Senior Management Course team of 21 officials under training at the National Institute of Management (NIM) Peshawar visited the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) complex.

As per the details, the team was doing an inland study excursion as a component of the training program which was led by Director Staff NIM Ms. Nafees Rahim and Program Officer Nadeem Ahmed Awan.

Furthermore, the visiting officers were greeted by FDA Director General Dr. Muhammad Zahid Ikram and Additional Director General Abid Husain Bhatti.

The FDA Director General informed them of the FDA’s organizational structure, roles and responsibilities, legal framework, rules and policies, details of the annual budget, sources of funding, and other services provided by the FDA.

He also discussed the steps made to improve service to give applicants prompt relief, adding that, to preserve good governance, official activity is also being automated and FDA records are being converted to digital format.

The DG also provided information on the procedure for approving private housing proposals and the crackdown on illicit housing schemes.

According to the DG, enforcement teams for the Punjab Development of Cities Act, land use restrictions, and other laws have received special attention in their execution.

He noted that FDA controls 17 commercial marketplaces, 18 residential colonies, and the FDA City Housing Scheme, with 13765 residential.

The group was informed that in the FDA City housing development, a sports complex that cost Rs. 487.50 million is also being built.

He stated the special recovery drive is ongoing to collect the unpaid dues from the persistent defaulters to explain the source of FDA income.

Besides, Director NIM Staff appreciated the Director General for showing the officers the utmost courtesy and providing a thorough briefing that would aid in their understanding of the urban development process and mechanisms.
