PESHAWAR: The interim government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recently expressed concerns over the rise of unauthorized housing projects luring innocent investors. As per the province’s government, these ventures are enticing the public to invest without obtaining the necessary no objection certificates (NOCs).

In a recent press conference, the Provincial Information Minister, Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, highlighted the actions of certain housing projects in Peshawar, such as Citi Housing and Bahria Town, which have begun selling forms even in the absence of official approvals.
Mr. Kakakhel urged citizens to exercise caution, emphasizing the importance of investing solely in housing initiatives that have secured the appropriate approvals. “Investments are indeed welcome, but not by jeopardizing the hard-earned savings of our people,” the minister remarked.
In light of these developments, numerous offices linked to such unauthorized projects have been closed, with more closures anticipated in the coming days. Concurrently, investigations have been launched against housing societies that have not acquired the mandatory NOCs.
The minister ended his statement by urging the public to refrain from purchasing forms from projects that lack the green light from the concerned authorities.
