ISLAMABAD: In yet another unfortunate incident, the girders of an under-construction bridge in Bhara Kahu area collapsed, causing chaos and panic among the residents.
According to the Islamabad Police, there were no casualties reported in the mishap, and rescue agencies immediately rushed to the scene and are working diligently to ensure the safety of the people in the area.
It has been shared that the traffic officials have also been deployed to maintain the traffic flow.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in Bhara Kahu. Earlier, the shuttering of a bypass flyover collapsed, resulting in the death of two laborers and injuring three others.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to investigate and report on the incident’s causes.
The authorities had promised to take necessary measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
It is pertinent to mention here that last night, the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) tweeted about the progress of the same transom P20 and P21 on which the collapse occurred.

The authorities have yet to comment on whether any safety measures were taken during the construction work.
The incident has raised concerns among the residents regarding the safety measures being taken during the construction of infrastructure projects.
Furthermore, the investigation into the incident is underway, and the authorities have assured the public of taking all necessary steps to avoid any such mishaps in the future.
