KARACHI: A water tanker crashed into a house on the main Sunset Boulevard in Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Karachi, early Monday morning.
According to Defence SHO Shoaib Rehman, the accident occurred at Phase II around 6 a.m.
As per the details, the tanker driver, identified as Awais, was the only person injured in the incident, and he is receiving treatment at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
According to eyewitnesses, the tanker crashed into the outer wall of the house with such force that it reached the drawing room, causing significant damage.
The SHO stated that it appeared the driver had fallen asleep, causing the tanker to go out of his control and hit the house.
Besides, the owner of the house is yet to decide whether to file a case, and no case has been registered yet, while no other injuries were reported in the incident.

It is shameful how DHA allows such heavy traffic to pass through Phase 2 since decades and has not been able to provide another route for it. This is not the first time that private property has been damaged. A similar incident happened to my place too since I reside on sunset Boulevard.
