Traffic Police Code 915 Changes to 1915
PTA has today announced to change 3 digit short code 915 to 1915 through a paper published here.
Reasons for changing this code are assessed in following 2 points.
- Cellular mobile users had to dial 051-915, 042-915, 021-915 etc to reach police of respective cities…now dialing 1915 will connect you to the police office nearest to your calling location
- The numbering capacity of 1 million will be available against 915 for future geographic number allocation
Both the new codes and old codes will remain active for period of six months
