Don't Rely on 668, Visit Service Centers to Know Exact Number of SIMs Registered Against your CNIC
PTA has officially introduced 668-SIM Information System, with what customers can check number of SIMs registered against any CNIC by sending CNIC number to 668. However, it is strictly advised to visit service centers of all cellular companies to know exact amount of SIMs registered against your CNIC.
This is due to unavailability of updated data and lack of data synchronization with 668 SIM information system.
Just as a case study, 668 responded me that there are only 2 SIMs registered against my CNIC, however, when I visited one of customer service center, company representatives told there are 11 SIMs registered against my CNIC – which they blocked instantly upon my request.
Same has been reported by many other mobile phone users. ProPakistani visitors have communicated us the same and said that the information returned by 668 varied than of that provided by Customer Service Centers.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in a statement has also advised the mobile phone subscribers to visit Customers Services Centre (CSC) of concerned mobile operator and get their SIM(s) data corrected. PTA has also requested the subscribers’ cooperation in streamlining of SIM data.
PTA has stated that the users may visit the Service Centers of concerned mobile operator to resolve this issue. In order to get the data corrected, for further action, mobile users would personally visit the CSC of the concerned operator and fill an undertaking by listing all the SIMs/numbers in their use and would get the unwanted numbers withdrawn from their names. The CSC shall return a copy of this undertaking to the customer.

668 says less number registered…i’m also facing this problem…n after blocking those numbers..the 668 reply was same even after two weeks..pta doesn’t update this service..very very very bad service if thay won’t update.

Ya 668 is totally providing wrong information as it told me that 3 warid sims are registered against my id where as i have only 1. So whaen i went to warid head office and checked 5 sims were registered ,,,lol,,,
668 also tell that there were no mobilink sims against my id where as i m using 1 mobilink sim.

just to clearify that sims are not instantly blocked instead sms and calls from service centre are sent on respective numbers to get da ownership changed… Xpect 15 to days for complete ownership transfer:)
Because couple of sims were registered on old ID cards?
668 system is very efficient, according to PTA Chairman, who just visited our university today

this service is good.. but gsm companies franchise are not taking this issue seriously
Yes, the data is updated till January 2009 as told by warid cro. PTA should not only update it to present but also make sim blockage procedure simple. At present it was told in 668 reply to visit service center. But these service centers are limited to big cities. Franchise guide u to visit other cities for the blockage of sims which is very difficult and costly. So plz make it more efficient
Condition on ZONG BYN.
Initially there was no condition on BYN and they supported MNP seeing own benefits but after people response they totally blocked MNP. Then ZONG make it 18months. After watching the poor action by PTA now it is incresed to 3YEARS. What are the benefits of MNP???

•You will have to purchase and load a scratch card of Rs 300 with each SIM, you can also recharge the same amount through miniload. Comment Plz
pta should immediately suspend this service of 668 because they r using data as at 1st january 2009,which is old and wrong.after that date millions of sims’ data has been corrected due to mnp,sim expiry and theft cases etc.first pta should update its data and make the blocking service available at more places and then restart this service.
i think pta should launch there such service. when they updated there data. but they dont so first they block there service and update there data first. and launch it again. and update at least weekly.
Some companies like mobilink does not provide list of numbers issued on your CNIC.

I check my CNIC #, but ersult was Zero for all network, though I have registered my self two sims for ZONGs…….
What so ever our Pakistani GOVT bodies are really stupid….. they dont have very much good whether FIA, CIA, PIA, PTA, PTCL, or Police or any intelligence agency….. blah blah blah
Customers Services Centre (CSC) sirf big cities main hain, jin cities main “Customers Services Centre (CSC)” nahi hai wo kia karain. jab kay frenchise walay is silsalay main koi help faraham nahi kar rahy. 668 behi agar shaki service hai, tu phir chotay shair walay log kahan jain. koi smaj dar banda is ka hal bata daye.

Aamir Bahi franchiese are not providing service. Is PTA providing service for closing connection, by driect dailing?
No, currently only service centers offer such service. However, soon some selected franchises will do the same in far flung areas where there are no service centers

Yeah this system is not working correctly, They are not including Mobile number portability service customers to this system.

Shame on PTA and all director’s of PTA who launch this fake service. On my bro id card 32SIM issued how it is possibleeeeeeeeeeeeee. Even on my ID 668 show 1 sim register but I check from business center they said 2 sim issued. Kindly stop fooling people …………………………….

Actually PTA picked the data from all telecommunications upto till 31 january, and you will not see the sim on ur ownship in the reply of 668 if you bouught the sim after 31st of JAN or it has been issued on ur ID after 31.
You can go to relevant Customer Care Center to withdraw ur ownership if you want to do so then it will send sms to the number to transfer ownership. after 15 day if he/she doesnt, sim will be blocked and after 45 days PTA will update data in their database , so there is no use of messeging again on 668 within 45 days .you can try it after 45 days.

Even if you put block on fake registrations more sims will still get registered coz xerox of your CNIC will never stop floating in the hands of dealers. I would love to see how PTA solves this equation!
yep its correct 668 is not reliable once i texted they inform me there r 12 sims against my CNIC including 2 warid sims that was still incorrect caz i have 2 zong sims but the information they sent me was incorrect n they told me that i have only zong sims registered against my CNIC. after some weeks i again make a try to check out my personalized data but this time it was completely wrong caz they even did not mention the warid sims n there was written there is no warid sim issued against my CNIC n then i confirm from warid franchise n they told me i have 2 warid sims…… now u ppl can make a decision how 66 is reliable so i advise u ppl plz to confirm ur personalized data just through customer care center or from franchise caz it may drag u in many problems.

I regretfully inform that PTA 668 is conveying wrong data, nor franchise offices respond the requests of customers. Due to such subscribers are unawareof that which of the cell numbers are allotted on CNIC number, which creates hardship and some severe circumstances. You are requested to provide full list of cell numbers, with company issued on one CNIC and stern action be initiated against the companies and franchises who are not obliging the subscribers.
