    I use wateen and its good when it is working. It usually goes down around midnight but overall its good. But I have to pay 1617 for 1mb unlimited which is too much for me. Looking for low rate even if it is unlimited but lesser bandwidth such as 256kbps, 512kbps.

    A good news indeed. We welcome the WATEEN back with open arms. But there are many big issues to be resolved. 1. Limited COVERAGE Limited Customers: What will be the Coverage area? Presently here in the whole of Balochistan Province WATEEN wireless service has its coverage ONLY in 1 city (Quetta) and it is not available anywhere else, not even in the most important Industrial City (HUB) which is only 15 kilometers away south of Karachi. 2. Slow SPEED Lost Customer: A Customer nowadays needs REASONABLE SPEED sufficient enough for watching web TV, Videos, Video Calls, etc. If the Speed is slower to support such things it will definitely mean LOST CUSTOMERS as people now prefer PrePaid. Take for example, I bought a PTCL EVDO USB in June, 2011. It claimed Speed of 3.1.mbps. But it failed to give me speed even equal to dial up. So, I simply threw it in Dust Bin. I am sure WATEEN has Graduated from its past good and bad experiences and STRONGLY Suggest for them to continuously focus on the Coverage and Speed of their Service, otherwise they are not going to be successful in long run. I hope for the best and wish all the best to the WATEEN and looking forward to be its new prepaid Customer alongwith many of my friend and family members who are also waiting.

      Well there was an interview of CEO of Wateen in which he said Wateen is working to expand it’s operations in rural ares of Baluchistan. SO hopefully you might get wateen services in other parts of Baluchistan too.

    Amir bhai i don’t get it, how hard is it for their corporate heads to understand that the main issue with wateen’s packages is the DATA CAP. Monthly charges do matter to some extent but as they are already providing better customer support and service quality i don’t think it should be a turn-off for potential customers, myself i have thought like 1000 times of getting wateen but The only thing that scares me is the data limit! they are re-launching so a little experiment won’t hurt just remove data cap for sometime and watch how many new customers they can grab!!!

      I agree – the main hurdle for masses is the data limit. When we tell them the same, they say k only 5-10 percent users cross the limit and they are not their target audience. They brag about the quality they tend to offer by limiting the cap.

      One needs big heart to remove the data limit, but what they can do is to enhance data limit to like 200 GB, that’s 6.6 GB per day – which is sufficient enough for 99.8 customers. This is how WiMAX operators can call it unlimited without fearing the abuse. Even 150 GB per month, that’s 5 GB per day will work for many.

      Now don’t ask me what internet users will do with 5-6 GB of daily data limit.

        Well then who exactly is WATEEN’s Target Market? I mean you can’t change the Market or it’s requirements.. you TAILOR your product accordingly.
        Service Quality aside, A simple NET user (who doest care either its WIMAX or DSL) Wants UP-TIME & his YouTube running without snoring & sufficient data limit that satisfies his torrent crunching habits. even if they charge slightly high… POWER USERs will pay . If they can’t even understand that. Then there will be another relaunch… & another & on n on..

    And to those who are pissed off about data caps, Chill guys these greedy people are learning their lesson (the hard way)! think about it people always whine about PTCL CS being bakwas and all yet they have the largest market share, it maybe due to the monoply of ptcl but main reason being unlimited data plan on 1mb and 2mb packages, So yeah yeh qubee wateen witribe a jayeingay line per abhi inki balance sheets mein NETLOSS hi rehne do, laton ke bhoot “baton aur customer reviews” se nahi manty!

    i think this would b the minimun 1mb offer by wateen with may b 8 or 10 GB limit.

    Good Luck to Wateen, the major problem with Wateen is that, they change their technical staff like we change the clothes every day, and they don’t use merit system for their technical staff, all employment is based on “relationships” the Major Failure for any company or at least they should empower their technical staff on the merit based.

    otherwise, their is no use to spend millions on marketing, they will remain a Failure company !!!

    Note for those who are complaining about data cap, here are few things for your consideration:

    Wireless is a shared media so practically it is not possible to dedicate a particular channel to a particular user for too long especially for home users. So there is always a compromise between data rate or contention rate. Either you have to make sure that the user who has paid for 10-20 GB actually gets what he is paying for or you can commit unlimited & then apply heavy contention rate so that download speed is down to dial-up level & you can’t even get 2GB a month.

    Technically it is possible but since practically it is impossible for home users, so those ISPs who claim unlimited packages are actually fooling customers & I would suggest readers not to believe on them.

    Our focus is to actually fulfill what we commit with the customer unlike most of the ISPs out there.

    Those who need dedicated speed with unlimited packages can avail Wateen’s best in town corporate packages either on WiMAX, Metro Fiber, GPON, HFC, & DVB-S2 access technologies.

    Well after reading all above coments on the behalf of wateen telecom,I strongly condem that we have poor services then Wi-tribe or qubee, infect the reason is that wi-tribe or qubee had limited coverage and there services just only cover limited areas, mashallah we have blanket coverage in lhr, khi, islamabad etc now our new management is reanly focused on quality and quantity both is sales and after sales support, yes we are launching new tariffs and new pakages, and we are still poineer in Wimax in pakistan, having our on fiber network and strong media, we have also improved or wireless telephone network services, I strongly advise all perticipents once must try wateen telephone services you will realy feel a difference as compaired with ptcl or worldcall also we are low in tariff.
    Inshallah we will lauched a new wateen from 1st of nov. 2011, Our CEO did extra efforts to bring the wateen in new Aera.

    Its good that a wireless operator is enhancing its packages and offering, it was demand of the users. Wateen no doubt currently largest Wimax provider and perhaps users were looking for new packages from a long time specially in cities where no other wimax provider is present, because fix line have many issues.

    Well today Wateen showed up the nastiest problem it has shown since Aug 2010 I guess.

    Most of the time I was happy with how Wateen kept their network up with good speeds. But not since last few months. First website takes minutes to load. And browsing can get slow suddenly to the point you get few KB/s that can take half an hour or more to load a small youtube video.

    And today, It showed me same problem that made me leave my last ISP in 2010. Wateen server’s were sending me cached pages. I could not see the files I uploaded to my website. And even worse! When I signed up to my freelancing account it was showing someone else’s details! I believe it was a Wateen user logged in to account some hours ago and page was cached. So today each time I log in I see HIS details! This is ridiculously stupidly dangerous !%$@%. I don’t want to loose my account and more because of these critical ISP flaws as they will show my account to someone logging in after me.

    Searching on google, this news came up. I was itching to see something like this coming up from Wateen and I even emailed them about upgrading their service and lowering their rates.

    Just some days and we’ll see. I hope Wateen becomes my favorite again after all these nightmares of experiences.

    For now, FIX THE Cache CRAP first.

    That’s good news. I ve been a happy Warren customer for past couple of years. All I want is more speed coz 1Mbps in just nothing. There should b packages of 2Mbps and even more. This is a time of HD videos streaming and downloading and if u can’t do it comfortably

So it is a very good news for me me and I’m looking forward to it eagerly. Hopefully old customers are duly taken care of when this launch is made.

    Finally we create a new revolation in WiMax industry today. After reading all above comments let me tell you about the product. Look some of you people write about DSL, well DSL is dependent on a perticular telephone exchange which is using the copper wires for data transfer, and there sharring rate is much above they said. There is difference between WiMax & DSL, we have 100% fiber optic through which we are transfering the DATA. Today we introduced new packages in the market, which are quite comperiate and affordable. And another big news we introduced new SHUTTLE which is realy awsome in working. We have some curtain goals and targets, we en-hanced our customer support and customer care. Inshallah every customer will see a big change in wateen now. The CEO & CCO showed us a greate path, no dout we are still pioneer in the country in WiMAX, and we will prove wateen is best in quality,quantity etc. I request all those customers who left wateen because of some curtain problems come and join us again, Inshallah we will not loose there trust and provide them awsome services.

    I am doing job in qatar and now i am totally dependent on wateen. and with launch of new wateen ,all previous service has been collapsed. getting error while recharging account.

    yes its true you people launch new packages.
    But what about the old customer,my ZTE old device is faulty since 15 October2011 but still waiting for new device ..u people forget the old customer and try to catch new customer.
    it is fair.
    Each time i call they give me new Ticket but they did not sort out the problem.
    my latest ticket is 3382628
    what ever u pioneer in wimax or not BUT U PEOPLE STILL NEED SOME CUSTOMER CARES TRAININGS.

    Not Happy to Hear that as they are a Group of Irresponsible People who know nothing about the Basic Ethics of doing Business. Last time, when they launched their products in Pakistan, they left no stone unturned to fool the people and collect money by declaring the premises fit for a Wireless Phone/Internet Connection and later having hesitation in returning the Money and if in some cases they returned it but deducted considerable amount in the name of Admin Charges. So the Best & Simple word to describe them is CHEATERS and nothing else. People be aware of their this practice before making any commitment with them and that is a Sincere Advice.
