Are u interested in running a grey business? Assay sawal tu awhile karay ga jo interested hoga

    • Good guy

Heavy callers, inhuman behaviour of mobile connection usage etc. Necessity is mother of invention, in the absence of monitoring system, this is best way to effectively curb grey traffic.

Looks like you have never been outside Pakistan, and so have no idea how painful it is paying your hard earned money in calling, while the same time neighbor Indians pay pennies calling back their country. Btw they also have legal local SIP providers.

        • Good guy

Use of illegal means cant be appreciated in any case… two wrongs cant make one right….

    • Ali Salman

ICH stands for International “Cho….a” House?

All overseas Pakistanis should use all possible means to talk VoIP to VoIP (Viber, SIP protocol service providers which are many). Run US/UK VoIP numbers back in Pakistan and call those numbers instead of PK numbers. Do it and do it shamelessly because we send billions to this country and some a****** have no shame left that they are ripping us off ? And compelling us to use VoIP for calling. Why don’t they let Braintel like providers provide services across the globe while being in Pakistan ? Tax won’t go to Govt of Pakistan in that case ? But these people have no brains or they are involved in under the table deals.

IT and telecom is total disaster in this country. No decisions are taken after given them much due thought. On one side 3G auction is pending, world already moved to 4G on other side no one did any efforts to bring international players like Paypal etc to Pakistan, even services like youtube are blocked entirely.

Paypal is not willing to come Pakistan,

      • tabish

If you know Paypal officials visit Pakistan because they are interested in opening their services in Pakistan but thank to our corrupted politicians we are still lacking with most important payment solution in our country

        • Adnan Siddiqi

Wrong. They are not willing to come due to our banking policies of SBP.

Politicians in every country are corrupt and Paypal has nothing to do with politicians. I know this because I was in correspondence with Paypal in past.

Thanks. The info I had was 5 years back. At that time they told me about banking issues.

          • http://www.infopakistan.pk/ Khurram ShahzAd

Paypal would definately be willing to do business with Pakistan. It would nothing but make them hell lot of more profit. Its only Pakistani government have to pave the way for them to come in do business here. Have to change rules which are preventing them from coming in Pakistan, Paypal is in most of world’s countries, its even there in bangladesh, India and lots of other names like peru, panama, Cyprus etc.

It is *Not* in India anymore.

It sure is, see screen shot attached with this comment. Taken right now :-) Its of their signup form, they would never thought of pulling out of India. Hope measures are taken to bring in Pakistan, but who will do it :-(

                • Adnan Siddiqi

Thanks it then recently allowed, it was not a year ago. You may google

It was there, however it could have been paused for a while, I am still not even sure about that. From years I have seen people mentioning “India is paypal verified country” on different tech forums.

            • Muhammad Abdullah

The question is not policies but SECURE CYBER SPACE

              • http://www.infopakistan.pk/ Khurram ShahzAd

Whatever that is, still If government is gonna choose the right people for right job, only then things will move forward. If people like Anusha Rehman – who doesn’t seem to know anything about IT and telecom – are made ministers, then we ain’t moving forward bro.

ICH was the brainchild of all LDIs and previous govt. As per insiders of telecom industry huge amount was paid by LDIs as first installment to the masterminds. Now the LDIs are not bringing international traffic but are receiving huge amounts as per their share every month. Grey traffic has increased due to high margin as ich has increased the call price and PTA has been made dysfunctional as no equipment has been given to monitor grey which was part of the ICH and LDIs are using delaying tactics as they themselves are involved in grey. The current govt of Nawaz sharif is also in favour of ich and taking no action on the pretext that the matter is subjudice. PTA is detecting these grey traffic culprits with their own resources and old system. A good organization which was sabotaged by bringing typical bureaucrates to the higher management who only serves to get their promotions, extensions, plots and loot the organisations. Thanks to Honorable LHC which put an end to this practice at least for the position of chairman pta.

ICH is the most controversial abbreviation I heard since NRO.

The content of this news article is similar to evening news papers Mirch Masala. What is happing to Pro-Pakistani team?

    • Someone

This is not mirch masala. whatever written above is truth, The guy has guts to write what others cant.

    • Muhammad Abdullah

If u r living ur life with closed eyes, yes its mirchiiiiiiii but reality is much more painful and disturbing than reported stuff. …..
      > who all r monitoring ur stuff ? , same are communicating via grey 2 their homes form Pakistan n Afghanistan via Pakistan.
      > trace out beneficiaries of increase in grey traffic ?

      > PTA was used only as instrument in case of ICH

  • geo_pak

I understand that instead of ICH there is now a consortium of LDI and PTCL, led by PTCL for all int’l incoming calls. Basically doing the same function as ICH and cartelization. If still they can’t manage grey traffic, then the PTA etc should be wound up and let the general public have some relief. Their taxes and monopolies will result in disaster for us consumers.

  • Good guy

Grey Operators kay saat hamdardi …. It shouldn’t be the case until unless……….

    • fred

the way i see it sooner or later pakistan telecom moderators hav to start thinking out of the box and start adopting a much broader and open policy towards voip as u simply just cant shy away from wat the future beholds, as in the case of voip…in the west voip is not just a mean of communications but it has so many added benefits attached globally i.e health care, distant education ,economy, defense etc etc….so u simply cant always charge/overcharge people the extra buck for services that are important to masses…and lastly as for grey traffic ppl i think they also pay taxes when they use or buy gsm minutes to terminate international traffic…ever wonder why the quarterly profits for all telcos increase,ARPU increase and the 19.5% fed tax going in the govt kitty….so dont worry the govt and telcos are not losing anything infact the telcos are also getting their share of the ich agreement besides increased revenues

      • Good Guy

You want to appreciate thieves who stole your cars but fill
it with legal petrol as more than 70% of petrol price goes to GOP kitty? Come
on, don’t you have better argument? Wake up.
