Sony Releases the Mid-range Android Running Xperia M

Sony-Xperia-M-And-Xperia-M-Dual

Sony is one of the emerging Android-makers currently and is known for making expensive devices with high-end specs. This phone is a different case though. The Xperia M is a mid-range phone, as evident by its specs & price and is available right now for 190 pounds or around 30,000 PKR.

The phone has a 4 inch display with respectable resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Under the hood sits a dual-core processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1 GB RAM. (That last bit is really pleasing.) The amount of storage is kept at 4 GB but is expandable nonetheless.

The phone will also have a dual-sim version, something which we haven’t seen in a lot of Sony phone lately. Considering the price range of the phone, it’s also quite pleasing to see that this phone comes with NFC.

Here are the full specs of the Xperia M:

  • Customized Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • 4 inch display with FWVGA resolution and scratch-resistant glass
  • 9.3 mm thick
  • 115g heavy
  • Optional dual-sim
  • 1Ghz dual-core SnapDragon S4 Plus processor
  • Adreno 305 GPU
  • 1 GB RAM with 4 GB expandable storage
  • 5 megapixel rear-camera with 720p HD video, HDR and Exmor RS sensor
  • 0.3 megapixel front-camera
  • Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC
  • 1750 mAh battery
  • Available in a large range of colors

As is the norm in the phones of this price range, the Xperia M will also come in a plethora of colors, clearly indicating its target audience. It might face some competition from Chinese phones which are priced attractively but some features in this particular phone won’t be available in a lot of them.

  • I am seriously waiting for this to come out , Qmob may have better on sheet specs and way too low rice , but the quality matters , and I will go for a dual core from a branded company any time instead of chines quad cores ..

    • go and read stories about Xperia phones and company is even short of components :D I bought Xperia U a month ago brand and it has touch problem but when I Google that problem almost every Xperia have that problem

      • i bought xperia p , after upgrading it to jellybean my phone now freezes alomost everytime i get a call , sometimes after picking up the caller can even hear the ringtone of my phone as it keeps ringing even after i hv picked up … :S

      • Common Yar , Faulty units do exists even for top brands like apple and samsung , Even read the stories of people die due to there smartphones blow up , Things happen…
You can not judge a whole Company on such bases …

      • Sony lost its touch when it moved to smartphones. It was better off with cybershot and P990 series.

    • If u are willing to spend Rs.30,000… just spend 3000 more and buy Xperia SP! Its way better than this one…!

  • Intead of purchasing this phone at Rs. 30,000, I recommend to buy xperia p which is available around Rs. 24,500 having similar specs, it has 8 megapixel camera with 1080 p video recording, metal body and 16 gb internal storage but no expandable storage support.

    • I’ll probably die explaining this. 30000 IS mid-range. Also this phone is a mid-range model by its specs. High-end category generally starts at 40K while lower-end stops at 15-20K.

  • Pro Pakistani is one of best Tech sites of Pakistan but sadly even they have not published a single article to share that Xperia phones are now available with official warranty in Pakistan. Too bad

  • Wrong info the cell price is 190$ near 20000rs where xperia l has superior spec as compared to the xperia m
