Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Lite is A Camera Phone On a Budget

Asus is expanding its already confusing line of Zenfone devices with the launch of the new ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite. The phone targets a particular audience while keeping an eye out for their budget. This expands Asus’ Selfie lineup to 3 phones with,

Design and Display

The phone comes with a metal finish, which we increasingly see in low-end devices these days. The display here is a 5.5-inch IPS panel, likely with HD resolution (Asus didn’t specify a resolution). It supports up to 400 nits of brightness and comes with a blue-light filter.

It’s really hard to tell the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie phones apart thanks to their largely similar design. The front home button has a fingerprint scanner embedded under it.

Internals and Storage

The phone comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor with 2 GB RAM, and either 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD slot of upto 2 TB in size.

Dual-SIM support is available through a dedicated slot. The software running is Android 7.0 Nougat, with ZenUI on top of it. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, microUSB and 4G LTE.

Camera(s)

The main selling point here is the front camera, which is a 13 MP unit with an LED Flash. The back camera also features the same sensor with electronic image stabilization and LED flash.

Battery

The battery capacity is set at 3,000 mAh. Asus didn’t mention fast charging so it is likely to be unavailable. The phone will be available in Black, Gold, Pink and Green and will cost between $150 and $180, depending on the version.

It is currently limited to Philippines so we’re unsure whether this version is for Philippines only or if it will be available in other regions as well.
