Huawei Honor 7C Brings Dual Cameras and More to Low Mid-range

Another addition to Huawei’s midrange portfolio – the Honor 7C has been made official in China.

Much like the trendy Mate 10 lite and the Y9, the Honor 7C comes with a fingerprint sensor, trimmed bezels and an 18:9 display.

Design and Display

Honor 7C sports a 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen with an HD+ (1440x720px) resolution. The aspect ratio is 18:9 with a 2.5D curved glass layer on top. The phone’s bezels are fairly trimmed with a ~76.3 screen-to-body ratio and the display’s pixel density is approximately 269 PPI.

The rear has a dual-cam setup and a fingerprint sensor too.

Hardware and Storage

Instead of Huawei’s home-made Kirin processor range, a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 runs the show, paired with either 3 GB or 4 GB RAM. The processor is an Octa-core Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.8 GHz and an Adreno 506 runs the graphics department.

As is the norm, Honor 7C comes with a dual-sim slot and a microSD card slot too.

It comes in two internal storage variants – 32 GB (3 GB RAM) and 64 GB (4 GB RAM) storage which can easily be expanded via microSD slot.

Camera and Software

Huawei Honor 7C has a familiar dual rear camera set up consisting of a 13 MP primary sensor and a 2 MP depth-sensor for refined portrait mode and facial recognition. The front-facing sensor is an 8 MP unit with an LED flash.

Out of the box, you get the latest Android 8.0 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 on top.

Battery, Price, and Availability

The phone comes with a decent 3,000 mAh non-removable battery with no fast-charging. Unfortunately, the USB port is a microUSB 2.0.

The two variants – 3 GB/32 GB and 4 GB/64 GB have a price of CNY 899 (~Rs. 15,700) and CNY 1,299 (~Rs. 22,700). Color options are Black, Red, Gold, and Blue.
