SBP Denies Rumors of Issuing Rs. 10,000 Currency Notes

The State Bank of Pakistan has categorically denied rumors that it is going to issue Rs. 10,000 banknotes.

In a statement, the Bank said that existing banknote denominations satisfactorily meet the payment, settlement and other allied needs of the economy and thus there is no need for issuing higher denomination banknotes.

The SBP has advised the general public to not pay heed to such rumors and check the authenticity of any news related to banknotes on the SBP website and its social media accounts.
