Official: PTCL Doubles Broadband DSL Bandwidth

PTCL has finally announced double bandwidth for its existing broadband users at no extra cost in celebrations of 23d March along with PTCL Smart TV to be Free till June 2009 in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

PTCL’s website says “PTCL management pleased to announce the following tariff for broadband internet facilities for its valued customers, with effect from March 23rd 2009. The existing package of 512Kbps will not be offered to new customers. Existing 512Kbps packages customers will be upgraded to 1MB package, 1MB to 2MB and customers of 2MB will be upgraded to 4MB”.

“Broadband Pakistan is now available in over 119 cities including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Bhawalpur.

By the way, this upgrade process has been completed, and hundreds of PTCL broadband users have already confirmed this upgrade – at the same time, there were couple of PTCL broadband users who reported downgraded services as well.

This promotion from PTCL will for sure put tremendous pressure on Link Dot Net to lower their tariff.

So, 512KB DSL connections are no more offered by PTCL. Other plans are available as following
