Mobilink has finally announced a date for the commercial launch of its 3G services. According to details, company will be commercially launching its 3G services in the country on July 18th, 2014.

Mobilink had been offering free 3G services to its customers in eleven cities till now.

There were growing concerns about delay in commercial launch of Mobilink’s 3G services, but company had explained that the delay in 3G launch was part of 20th anniversary celebrations of Mobilink’s operations in Pakistan and that Mobilink wanted to offer extended duration of free 3G services to its customers.

Mobilink, as per confirmations we have received, is sending out a text-message broadcast to communicate its customers that free 3G services won’t be available from July 18th.

Here’s a screen of such text-message that is received by a Mobilink customer:

A similar message has also been displayed on Mobilink’s website, which is as following:

“Dear Customer! Mobilink 3G services will be charged from 18th July. To avail 3G offers please dial *443# or call 111 for further details”

Mobilink claims to have 3G coverage in 11 cities of Pakistan, which makes its largest 3G operator yet. These cities – with Mobilink’s 3G coverage – are:

  • Karachi
  • Lahore
  • Islamabad
  • Rawalpindi
  • Multan
  • Faisalabad
  • Quetta
  • Peshawar
  • Gujranwala
  • Sialkot
  • Hyderabad

Clearly we aren’t sure yet about 3G packages that Mobilink has planned to announce, but we will update our readers as soon as we get any word.

  • Hey guys. I use Telenor and live in Bahria Town Phase. 8, Rawalpindi. Sadly there is no telenor or ufone 3g here. Does anyone know if i van get mobilink 3g here? Or maybe even zong

    • Maybe Zong. I am getting Zong 3g in Askari XIII, Just near Khwaja Corp. Chowk. Telenor sucks there, Mobilink & Ufone aren’t offering any service. Zong RoXX!!

  • hahaha commercial launch seriously one day i start traveling from johar town to the end of gulberg i didnt get any where 3g signal of mobilink at last while i return home i get 1km covered 3g area near jinah hospital to shooq chowk and i amazed to see that wow whata service then removed my sim and though that to the garage cane thats all :D

  • Mobilink may be covering more cities, but the coverage within major cities – at least in Islamabad where I live – is not good at all. Telenor covers almost all parts of ISB / RWP, whereas Moblink covers only posh pockets.

    • Mobilink, Ufone & Telenor all have bad coverage .. ZONG is having good coverage in ISB & RWP and the speeed is awesome too :)

  • ker do bhai launch or kia kahsmir ki azadi tak service ko commercial nahi karo gay

  • Mobilink has been very poor in providing services to even 2G subscribers. I complained for the coverage issue in Hayatabad , peshawar but I was informed that their tower is located nearby and due to absence of generator the coverage is affected and this is reason of bad quality. WTF…are we paying for this shit and now on the top of it you every operator is collecting taxes two times on the same money – first when you recharge second when you call. Poor coverage and service just add injury to the insult…

NO HIGH HOPES for 3G….its going to be worst even from 2G…

  • I am not happy with this move, they have not given me free internet trail, My office in ISB and my home in RWP both have not yet covered, similarly in rwp/isb they have hardly covered 5% of areas, even less, Not sure why they are commercially launching it so soon, telenor/ufone have much better coverage at moment, as I keep running searches on available 3G networks in different areas I end up in.

  • I am fully satisfied with Ufone network. Although right now no network is providing complete 3G service in any city. Its speed and packages are best as compared with Zong, Telenor or Mobilink.

  • Your news are mostly fake :/ whenever u make an article saying the certain company is gonna take a certain step on the date u give it never happens on that date so stop fooling people.
