Who are the Organizers?
As one of Pakistan’s largest interest free microfinance organizations, Akhuwat operates with the primary goal of mitigating poverty by empowering the less fortunate families, both; socially as well as financially, across Pakistan. It achieves this goal with key functions such as social guidance, capacity building and offering interest free microfinance.
The Lahore-based organization has spread its wings further to form Akhuwat Education Services (AES) in order to address the problems of those with lesser educational opportunities due to scarcity of resources.
What are the Program Details?
In a situation where a student is unable to afford the cost of tuition for post-secondary institutions, AES sponsors the student. These could range from degrees in Management and Computer Studies to Masters in Commerce or Networking. Be it King Edward Medical University, NUST, UET (Taxila) or any other college, AES is willing to afford the tuition fee in light of the wide-ranging benefits to society.
More About Akhuwat University
Ultimately, AES plans on establishing Akhuwat University that should act as one platform for all and sundry to follow a curriculum not only aimed at academics but the practical and professional skills of individuals. AES relies on contributions from its Youth Volunteers, civil society and donors to make this possible for the youth of Pakistan.
How Can You Help?
You can now contribute to help build a university by simply buying a brick. Akhuwat’s latest initiative ‘BUY A BRICK– BUILD A UNIVERSITY’ allows citizens to buy a brick for Rs. 1,000 to support this cause. Considering how much the cost of a university amounts to, this isn’t quite a hefty amount to pay given the kind objective.
How to Donate?
If you wish to donate for the cause, simply head to the Akhuwat’s official website to contribute via VISA or MasterCard. For alternate modes of payment or further enquiries, contact them at: [email protected]
