Daraz.pk Launches Android App in Pakistan

Daraz.pk has officially launched its mobile app in the country for Android users. The online shopping app is designed to provide a user-friendly and easily accessible platform for customer’s on-the-go and enhance user experience by bringing top-notch local and international brands to the fingertips of users.

There are currently over 1,000 brands listed on the new e-store app. Users can check out flash sales and receive push notifications on new arrivals, as well as choose from multiple payment methods such as online payment and cash-on-delivery. The user interface that is muted and appealing is optimized for android users.

Speaking about the launch of the App, Daraz.pk’s cofounder Farees Shah stated,

“Mobile is obviously a key driver of ecommerce growth in Pakistan and we are extremely excited at launching our state of the art and user friendly mobile app.

With the roll out of 3G/4G technology in Pakistan we believe a large segment of the population which wasn’t previously online from their laptops or desktops will now be online via their phones and we want to be there for them to kick start their online shopping journey.”

E-commerce in Pakistan has reached a turning point where industry experts are betting on the tech-savvy millennials and the 3G, 4G and LTE technologies as game changers.

The app coupled with nationwide popularity of easy-on-the-pocket smartphones and affordable mobile internet packages will help capture a massive audience throughout the country.

Pakistan currently has around 30 million internet users and there will be a significant hike in this number this year – mobile internet services will make this figure go up to at least 100 million internet users in the next couple of months.

The new mobile app will help reach out to users who live in areas with low broadband penetration and have little access to computers.

The Daraz mobile app is available for download on Android devices through the Google Play Store.
