Zong had decided to upgrade existing SIMs of its entire customer base — in cities where its 4G services are available — with 4G compatible SIMs, we have been told by officials of the company.
With this, all Zong customers in 4G covered cities are eligible to get their old SIMs replaced with 4G compatible SIMs for free.
Zong has said that its 4G SIMs are Universal SIMs, which the company says are different in terms of technology from currently available conventional SIM cards.
As per company claims, Uuniversal SIMs, or USIMs, come with enhanced security features that safeguard any security leakages, especially the ones that surfaced after Gemalto hack incident.
Zong said that its investment in 4G SIMs is not only customer focused but since USIMs are more secure the initiative is also aimed at enhancing national security.
Company also believes that enabling customers with 4G compatible SIMs will mean more chances of them using the 4G services. Company said that its data rates for 2G, 3G and 4G are same and hence its more productive for customers to use 4G services where they are available.
Zong Customers in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Faisalabad and Peshawar can get their SIMs replaced from their nearest service centres or Zong franchises.

Well of course, since they are behind Warid, they are gonna hand them out to everyone so there are “more chances of them (customers) using the 4G services”.
But still, this is a good marketing move, but to make sure people do try out their 4g services, they must reduce the prices
currently their 3g prices are the highest of any operator and 4g is also the most expensive when compared to warid.

In terms of 4G LTE, Warid 4G is cheaper than Zong 4G.

Its not free. I called help line and they said 50 rupees are charges for getting 4G Sim. Today, i visits business centre at Saddar, Rawalpindi and they also said 50 rupees are charges. I also give them reference of this article but they said they have no such info. Then I pay the charges to get 4G Sim. 50 rupees are not a big thing but i only want to clearify that this is not free yet.
Same here. I went today and the guy at franchise said this offer ended today. It was a very old offer that ended today. Now they are charging 50rupees.
i visited them today, they said the promotion is ended. I said them, I don’t need it anyway, if you replace it free than welcome. HD streaming works on 3g sims.
First of all Zong has same packages for 2,3,4G’s with the same rate and monthly bundle starts from 50rs onwards.

Compare kiya jaye tou Pakistan has cheapest Telecom services compared to the world. Ghareeb admi ko ab 20GB net use karna hai uska kuch nahi bol saktay. Mere pass iPhone 6 hai aur 1.5GB kaafi hai mere lye. Mujhe nahi pata aapko 20GB atleast kyun lagta hai. Middle east se lekay far east tak jao daikhna kitna quota milta hai wahan
