If you are in the market for a large smartphone on a budget, you’re in luck today because LG has announced exactly that. The new LG Ray X190 is the kind of phone which gets the job done admirably at a competitive price point.
The front has a large 5.5” display, albeit with a 720p resolution. The phone has a pretty generic design with 9.3 mm thickness while the lack of 4G connectivity consolidates its mid-range status. It does have an option for Dual-SIMs.
Under the hood, you get the MediaTek MT6592 processor with eight cores, along with 1 GB RAM. There’s also 16 GB storage with a microSD card slot for expansion.
The back also boasts a respectable 13-megapixel camera, capable of shooting 1080p videos. It’s surrounded with two volume keys and a lock button, as is often the case with LG phones. The front also has an 8-megapixel camera.
The phone is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, which comes with a rather limited 10 hours of talk time. The phone runs on customized Android 5.1 Lollipop, with LG-specific features like Knock Code and Gesture Shot.
The phone will be released in the coming few weeks for $232, just about fine for a phone with these specs and a respected OEM.
