HMD has quietly introduced the Arc 2 as the successor to its entry-level HMD Arc. The new phone arrives with an updated processor, additional storage, and two new colours. However, most of its specifications remain similar to those of the original model.
The entry-level price tag may attract budget-conscious buyers.
The HMD Arc 2 features a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. A waterdrop-style notch at the top of the display houses the front camera.
HMD offers the phone in Dark Blue and Golden Beige colour options.
The phone uses the Unisoc T603 chipset, replacing the Unisoc SC9863A found in the original HMD Arc.
The updated processor uses a more efficient 12nm manufacturing process and reaches a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz.
HMD pairs the chipset with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is also available for storage expansion.
The Arc 2 continues to run Android 14 Go Edition.
The HMD Arc 2 carries a single 13MP camera on the back.
A 5MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls. It sits inside the waterdrop notch above the display.
The phone is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10W charging.
It also includes a USB-C port and retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The HMD Arc 2 will become available in Thailand on July 20 for approximately $90.
